Pablo Picasso's La Tauromaquia Exhibition

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Bakehouse Art Complex, in conjunction with Bank of America Art and their Communities Program, will unveil the Miami debut of Pablo Picasso’s landmark La Tauromaquia exhibition, on-view at the Bakehouse’s Audrey Love Gallery.

The La Tauromaquia exhibition features a series of 26 aquatint etchings illustrating what was once one of the most important themes of Catalan culture, the art of the bullfight.

Picasso completed this body of work in 1957 as an homage to the famous eighteenth century matador Jose Delgado Guerra, known colloquially as “Pepe Hillo.”

About Bakehouse Art Complex
The Bakehouse Art Complex (BAC) is an incubator for artistic creativity featuring dozens of artists working side-by-side in every medium imaginable. In 1986, long before Wynwood was the place to be Second Saturdays for the monthly art walk - before it had any galleries at all - a group of artists transformed an abandoned bakery built in the 1920s and founded the non-profit Bakehouse Art Complex.

Today, the Bakehouse is not only a creative center, but also a vibrant community hub serving artists, patrons, art collectors and the South Florida community.
